Columbia College Excels In Debate Tournament

Columbia, CA — The Columbia College Debate Team walked off with 10 competitive awards in last weekend´s Northern California Forensics Association Championships at Diablo Valley College in Concord.
The team of Taureanna Shimp of Coulterville and Cody Cooper of Soulsbyville defeated Mt Hood Community College of Gresham, Oregon with a 2-1 decision in the competition finals. Cooper earned four awards in his overall performance. In addition he was recognized as the third best speaker in the debate competition.
Up next for the debate team; the state championships in Woodland Hills, CA March 7-11.
