Limited Number Of Supervisors Unanimously Pass Morning Issues

Sonora, CA — Items passed by the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors this morning: by a 3-0 vote the Board approved the nomination of Courthouse Square to the National Register of Historic Places, approved the building of a bottled water facility on Bill Gookin´s south county property and adopted a mitigation negative declaration for construction of the Sugar Pine Trail.

Supervisors Liz Bass and Paolo Maffei respectively are absent from today´s Board meeting at the County Administration Center.

County Administration Officer Craig Pedro reported that due to the passage of state Proposition 1B Tuolumne County is in line for $1.2 million to be used for road improvements.

At the same time Pedro noted that despite rising costs, there is no increase in the state budget for social services. Initially there is no cost-of-living allowance or increase in funds to administer these programs. In addition there is an aggressive program to amend the welfare-to-work program. Pedro added it will be a challenge to conduct this program given the budgeted funds.

At 1:30 this afternoon the Camden Group will discuss non-acute healthcare models for Tuolumne General Hospital.
