Sponsored by:

Sacramento, CA — From the KCRA 3 Weather Center and the National Weather Service a winter storm warning remains in effect for the west slope of the northern Sierra Nevada until 6pm today.

Moderate snow showers will continue through the day possibly bringing three to five inches of snowfall to the Mother Lode. Additional snowfall is possible above the 7,000 foot level.

In addition to the snowfall gusty southwest winds will continue with gusts up to 30-40 mph. The frontal system will pass south of the area by this afternoon with the winds and snow showers decreasing rapidly. Isolated snow showers are likely to continue through the evening hours.
