Crews Battling 100 Acre West Point Fire

San Andreas, CA — CAL Fire along with local agencies is battling a 100 acre fire in the West Point area.
According to CAL Fire´s Barbara George the fire is located on Winton Rd. between Bald Mountain and Bummerville Rd. CAL Fire is staging at the West Poiint Elementary School.
The Calaveras County Sheriff´s Department has ordered evacuations between Hwy 26 and Bummerville Rd. No evacuation center has been announced.
The Sheriff´s Department is also closing Hwy 26 at Winton along with portions of Bald Mountain Rd. and Bummerville Rd.
Cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
