West Point Store Owner Robbed

West Point, Ca — The Calaveras County Sheriff´s Department is investigating a robbery that occurred outside Sharp´s Gas in West Point earlier this week.

The owner told the Sheriff´s Department that she was robbed of her purse by a masked man as she prepared to open the store Monday morning. The victim says the man started running toward her and grabbed her purse. A struggle ensued, but the suspect was able to wrestle the purse away. He then fled down Main St.

The Sheriff´s Department says that the suspect is described as a white male adult, approximately 5´10”, with a slender build. He was wearing dark clothing, a ski mask and a red bandana. Anyone with information regarding this case should contact the Sheriff´s Department.
