Juvenile Arrested For West Point Robbery

West Point, Ca — Calaveras County Sheriff´s Detectives have arrested a 15-year-old male who is believed to be responsible for a robbery at Sharp´s Gas in West Point last week.

Detectives received information from a source indicating that the juvenile was responsible. The Sheriff´s Department says that the juvenile admitted to the crime when questioned. During the course of the investigation, detectives searched several locations in the West Point area, but were unable to recover any of the stolen property.

The unidentified juvenile was placed under arrest, and he has been turned over to the Calaveras County Probation Department.

The information that the detectives received was from the Sheriff´s Office Tip Line. Citizens can call 754-6030 to pass along information they have about crimes in the community.

The tip line is a voice mailbox that is not monitored, nor does it trap the caller´s phone number. The Sheriff´s Office prefers that residents leave their contact information, but anonymous tips are also welcomed.
