New Estimate Has Phoenix Lake Fire At 28 Acres

Sonora, Ca — Steve Gregory with the Tuolumne County Fire Department says the escaped debris burn in the Phoenix Lake area is now estimated to have damaged 28 acres.
Wind caught sparks from the debris burn and the fire quickly spread adjacent to Phoenix Lake. The fire was initially reported during the one o´clock hour.
CAL Fire´s Copter 404 was brought in for a number of water drops on the fire´s hot spots after a number of the fire crews had departed the scene.
Gregory says the fire is now completely contained. No injuries were reported and no structures were affected.
