Underage Drinking Major Concern At Mother Lode Fair

Sonora, CA — For the most part it was a quiet weekend at the Mother Lode Fair, but Sonora Police are extremely concerned over the number of underage drinkers at the four day event this year.
Eight juveniles were cited for being in possession of an alcoholic beverage, three juveniles were arrested for public intoxication and one juvenile was arrested on a felony warrant.
Four adults were arrested for public intoxication and five adults were arrested for driving-under-the-influence.
According to Lt. Mark Stinson the Department will be looking at ways to address this issue next year in an effort to curb the problem of underage drinking at a public event.
