Berryhill To Run For California State Senate

Sponsored by:

Sacramento, CA — Republican Tom Berryhill made it official today … he will be running for the 14th District Senate seat currently held by Dave Cogdill.

Berryhill describes himself as a very “conservative” Republican, a fierce advocate for public safety and for the small businessman.

“In my first legislative term I authored legislation stemming the tide of metal theft which was wreaking havoc in the Central Valley. This serious problem was costing millions of dollars in damage to crops, businesses, schools and utility lines.”

As Vice Chair of the Assembly Agriculture Committee and a member of the Assembly Accountability Committee Berryhill has been a proponent of updating California antiquated water infrastructure. He praised Cogdill for leading the way in formulating legislation that passed the Senate and the Assembly last month.

“From fighting taxes and working for economic recovery to protecting our communities from a government that’s too often unaccountable, I am very proud to represent the hardworking families and businesses of my district.”

The Berryhill Family has been farming in the Central Valley for four generations and has a long history of public service to the communities of the 14th Senate District. Berryhill currently represents the 25th Assembly District which includes Tuolumne and Calaveras counties. Tom’s brother, Bill, currently represents the 26th California Assembly District.
