Tuolumne County May Be In Line For ARRA Funds
Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County may be in line for funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
According to County Administrative Officer Craig Pedro in the past only counties with a minimum population of 100,000 would qualify for such funding. However a number of highly populated counties have not spent all the funds that were made available to them. Hence smaller counties may start getting pieces of the pie.
Pedro adds that the money would then be distributed to the business sector … it would not be kept by the county.
In order to even apply for this unexpected funding the supervisors must declare Tuolumne County a “recovery zone” and they will be asked to do just that Tuesday at their Board meeting.
