T.U.D. Hosts Initial “Rate Increase” Public Meeting

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — T.U.D. hosted the first of four public meetings Tuesday evening regarding those proposed water and sewer rate increases.

For the most part General Manager Pete Kampa says the majority of the public feedback to date has been for additional information rather than outright complaints.

“I’m sure that we have received some outright complaints but for the most part people seem to want more information. We had one gentleman who brought a spread sheet to last night’s meeting. He had a number of questions. We also had some in the audience of approximately 25 that said they could not afford the proposed increases.”

The next of the four scheduled meetings is set for Friday, April 17 at 10am at the Tuolumne City Memorial Hall.

On May 12 the T.U.D. Board of Director will hold a public meeting to collect final comments. A final decision on the rate increases, if any, will be made during the last meeting in May or the first meeting in June.
