Planning Commission To Host Lowe’s E.I.R. Public Comment Session Tonight

Sonora, CA — This evening at six o´clock the Planning Commission will host a public comment session regarding the Environmental Impact Report for the proposed Lowe´s Home Improvement Center project.

City Administrator Greg Applegate stresses that comments can only deal with the E.I.R. and not the project itself.

According to Applegate, “Once the public hearing is completed the Planning Commission will decide if the E.I.R. is in condition to be certified but bypically the comments that are taken … the consultants will go back and work on comments and bring it back for one more shot for the Planning Commission to certify and finalize the E.I.R.”

As to this evening´s turnout, Applegate commented, “Based on phone calls and such we haven´t had a whole lot of activity but, nonetheless, we´ll be prepared to take public comment.”
