MTSJH Will Go Tobacco Free

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA — Tobacco products will soon be banned on the campus of Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Starting on February 1st, smoking and the use of any tobacco product will no longer be permitted anywhere on the campus grounds, including buildings, parking lots, and walkways. The policy will apply to everyone, including patients, doctors, visitors, volunteers and employees.

“We recognize that this initiative presents unique challenges to employees, patients and visitors who are accustomed to smoking or using tobacco products on campus,” says Feliciano Jiron, MTSJH President. “We look forward to creating a healthier environment for everyone, and appreciate your cooperation as we take the steps to make Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital a tobacco-free facility.”

Hospital officials feel that the decision helps promote the better health and well being of the community.
