The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for the Motherlode through Sunday 4 PM.

Winds of fifteen to twenty-five mph with gusts around forty mph are probable.


Winds speeds of fifteen to thirty-five mph have been occuring in the Sierra Nevada with some gusts reaching as high as sixty to seventy mph.


The Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for the Motherlode has been extended through Monday 1:45 AM.


Isolated thunderstorms are possible this evening and tonight.


Many creeks and streams are running at high levels resulting in some minor type of flooding. Additionally, “nuisance” flooding has been reported on some area roadways, underpasses and in low lying areas.


A Flood Warning has been issued for the Sierra Nevada through Tuesday 8:15 AM.


An additional three inches of rainfall is forecast below the snow line through Monday night. 


Flooding is possible along with localized rock or mud slides. Rising waters are affecting the smaller rivers and streams.


Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely.


The Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for the Sierra Nevada through Monday 4 PM.


The snow levels will continue to fluctuate between 4000 and 8000 feet.


Several inches of snow accumulation is possible at 4000 feet through this time period. Two to four feet of snow is expected above 5000 feet. Five to ten feet of snow is possible above 7000 feet.
