Sonora, CA– The City of Sonora has long been designated a “Tree City USA”, and today the city held a ceremony for the planting of a new tree.
For 15 straight years, the non-profit Arbor Day Foundation has awarded this designation to the City. On hand at the tree planting site near the Certified Farmers Market, was the City’s Arborist Bill Seldon, who spoke briefly, along with Community Development Director Ed Wyllie.
Former City Administrator Greg Applegate and other city staff members also attended the special tree planting today.
