Highway 4 Planning Meeting

Sponsored by:

Angels Camp, CA — A public scoping meeting will be held for the Wagon Trail realignment project along Highway 4.

“We previously had some public workshops, but this is the official kickoff to the environmental process,” says Tim McSorley, Calaveras Council of Governments Executive Director. “It is important for folks to make comments on the project as it will become part of the public record as the environmental document is developed.”

“During this process we will be looking at a number of alternatives,” adds McSorley.

The Highway 4 realignment will cover approximately 4.5 miles between Copperopolis and Angels Camp that features severe curves and no shoulders. The project is still 10-15 years away and will cost an estimated $40 million. The meeting will begin at 6pm on Thursday at the Bret Harte High School Multi-purpose room.
