Record Breaking Eradication

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne Narcotics Team is out eradicating marijuana this week on Forest Service land.

Sheriff Jim Mele says it’s been a recording breaking couple of days.

"We pulled 56,000 plants out of one garden alone," says Mele. "That’s a huge garden, and the biggest one that I have heard of in the history of the Tuolumne Narcotics Team."

Mele says it appears that a Mexican Drug Trafficking Organization is responsible for the large grow, but no arrests were made.

Eradications are still taking place on Forest Service land this week, so the location of the record breaking garden has not yet been released by the Sheriff’s Office. It is still under investigation.
