Burglary Arrest In Jamestown

Sponsored by:

Jamestown, CA– Two teenagers were arrested in Jamestown this morning on several charges including burglary.

According to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy initially responded to a call of a possible fight near Campbells Flat Road. Another call was soon dispatched regarding a suspected vehicle burglary in the same neighborhood.

Deputy Paul Speers recognized four males by their suspect descriptions and ordered them  to stop since they appeared to be looking for a place to run. One of the suspects, 19-year-old Brian Schiro of Sonora, attempted to ride away on a bicycle but was taken into custody with the help of another deputy physically restraining him.

While placing handcuffs on Schiro, one of the other suspects, a juvenile, stepped toward them. Deputy Speers ordered him to stay back but he continued to approach him. The deputy took him into custody and told the remaining suspects, including 18 year-old Ryan Kotoske of Jamestown, and a juvenile, to stay where they were. All of the suspects appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

While Schiro was being secured in a patrol car, one of the juvenile suspects ran from the scene. After searching the area, deputies found a back pack containing stolen property from the burglary and several of the suspects had more stolen property in their pockets.  The property was confiscated and returned to its owner.

Shiro and Kotoske were booked into Tuolumne County Jail and the  remaining juvenile suspect was released to his parents. Charges include possession of stolen property, conspiracy to commit a crime, public intoxication, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and resisting arrest. The stolen property was valued at around $500.
