Drug Arrest In Jamestown

Jamestown, CA– Three Stanislaus County residents were arrested on drug related charges early this morning in Jamestown.


According to Sgt. Jeff Wilson of the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office, at around 1:40 am, Deputy David Vasquez stopped a vehicle with expired registration. The deputy questioned the driver, 52-year-old Kent Muncy of Modesto and his two passengers, 34-year-old Adela Tarr, also of Modesto, and 24-year-old Amy McCurdy of Escalon.


Although Tarr and McCurdy denied being in possession of drugs or using them, the deputy observed signs of drug influence.


Another deputy along with K9 Justice assisted with the traffic stop. Justice searched the car and alerted the deputy’s of possible drugs between the vehicle’s front seats. A small metal case and a large make-up container were found. Deputy Vasquez discovered marijuana and suspected methamphetamine inside the containers.


After conducting field sobriety tests, both Tarr and McCurdy were determined to be under the influence of a central nervous system stimulant. Muncy was also arrested. Charges include possession, under the influence, driving in possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license.
