Economic Growth And Jobs Forum

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA– Local economic development issues will be the focus of a Tuolumne County public forum happening Tuesday, February 15th from 3:00-5:00 pm at the Sonora City Hall’s City Council Chambers.

In partnership with the USDA and Tuolumne County Economic Development Authority, the forum will discuss findings and opportunities identified in the USDA Rural Development’s “Jobs, Economic Development and Sustainable Communities” report. Similar forums will be held in each of the state’s 58 counties.

“These forums will provide an opportunity for residents, business owners and community leaders across the state to share ideas on creating jobs and economic opportunities,” said USDA Rural Development State Director Dr. Glenda Humiston. “Government can help lay the groundwork for economic growth, but the best ideas for continued growth and job creation often come from local and community leaders.”

All forums are open to the public. The USDA encourages business owners, residents, state and local officials , farmers, non-profit organizations, economists and all others interested to attend.

The USDA’s Rural Development “Jobs, Economic Development and Sustainable Communities” report is available at www.rurdev.usda.gov/ca.
