What Is Beyond Fear Inc?

Sponsored by:

One of the newest local non-profit organizations sounds like it was tailor-made for Halloween.

Patty Steele, Founder and Executive Director of BeyondFear, Inc., was Thursday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

In reality, there is zero connection between Halloween and BeyondFear, Inc.

So then, what is it?

BeyondFear, Inc., a (501 (c)(3), is dedicated to providing low-cost or no-cost education and coaching to individuals with anxiety, phobias and panic attacks in Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties.

It is designed specifically to help local residents who suffer from:

•Severe anxiety or panic attacks
•Shyness
•Fear of being away from home, driving, crowded rooms, elevators, flying, public speaking, bridges, illness, death, choking, being alone, dentists, needles, doctors, losing control, going crazy, fainting, feeling like you can’t get enough air, vomiting, being without a “safety person,” etc.
•Distressing or recurring thoughts
•Excessive concern for your health
•Acute anxiety the night or day before an event (fear rehearsing)
•Feeling trapped when you can’t get out of a situation easily (traffic, church, meetings, dinners, cars)
•Fear that someone will find out your secret

Steele wants the word out that there is good news! Panic attacks, phobias, OCD and Anxiety can be overcome.

One successful program that personally helped Steele through her own phobia over fifteen years ago is called the Phobease Program.

This program was started in 1986 by Dr. Howard Liebgold MD., a Kaiser physician who suffered from multiple phobias and anxiety for over 31 years. After being cured, Dr. Liebgold began the Phobease Program with phenomenal success. Countless students have discovered “freedom from fear” and their lives have been changed forever! Their world has opened up to countless adventures and success without the “What if” thinking.

By following the program, people learn to conquer their fears and end the cycle of panic, anxiety, OCD and phobias.

This Sunday marks one of the very first public events and fundraisers for BeyondFear, Inc.

It is the Fall Harvest Fundraiser from 5 pm to 8 pm in the Sonora Elks Lodge. A Tri-Tip Dinner will be served (there is a vegetarian alternative). In addition there will be a silent auction along with door prizes and live music.

Tickets are $20 Adults & $10 Children under 12
