Sonora, CA — Motorists can expect delays in some areas of Tuolumne County this week as work continues on the Central Valley Next Generation Broadband Infrastructure Project.

Crews will be laying infrastructure along Sawmill Flat Road, between Parrotts Ferry Road and Columbia College. They will also be staged along Parrotts Ferry Road, between, Green Street and Marble Quarry Road. Later this week, the work will move to O’Byrnes Ferry Road, between Highway 108 and Shotgun Creek Road.

Workers will be in those areas throughout the day, and motorists can expect 5-10 minute delays.

The CVIN project spans 18 central California counties, and was funded by President Obama’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. $7.2 billion from the stimulus package was set aside to help increase internet speeds in rural and underserved areas.
