Suspicious Fire

Burson, CA – Arson may be to blame for a fire that destroyed a home in a rural area of Calaveras County. Cal Fire Spokesperson Lisa Williams says the Fire Investigation Unit is trying to find out exactly what sparked a house fire near Burson on Tuesday around noon. The two story home on Keystone Way was fully engulfed in flames when fire fighters arrived on the scene. The fire spread to nearly 3 acres of vegetation before fire fighters were able to contain the flames, which took about 15 minutes.
Fire Officials call the blaze suspicious because the house was unoccupied and most utilities had been shut off. However, no one was found in or around the house at the time of the fire.
