Groveland Ready To Celebrate This Saturday

Sponsored by:

The Yosemite Highway 120 Chamber of Commerce plays host this Saturday to the biggest event of the year in Groveland; the annual 49er Festival and Chili Cookoff.

Carolyn Botell, Administrator for the Yosemite Highway 120 Chamber of Commerce was Thursday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

“After the events of the Rim Fire, we need this,” said Botell. “Many of the businesses and our Chamber members have been impacted hard. In most cases, they are still recovering.”

According to Botell, Saturday’s events begin at 7am with a pancake breakfast at the Community Center hosted by the Odd Fellows and the Rebeccas, followed by the the annual parade down Main Street (Highway 120) beginning at 9am.

After the parade, most of the events will move to Mary Laveroni Community park with music all day, including vendor booths, kids activities, live and silent auctions, beer, wine, food and of course the famous chili-cookoff and salsa too.

The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard every weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
