Redskins Lose In Championship Game

Sponsored by:

The Escalon Cougars offense proved to be too much for the Calaveras Redskins defense. The Cougars were crowned the Sac-Joaquin Section Division 4 Champions after a 33-0 win over the Redskins Saturday afternoon.

Escalon´s running back Tony Reis ran for two touchdowns. Running back Jesse Miguel reached the end zone on a 66 yard toss run, and quarterback Matt Kistler found Joe Norton on a 36 yard post route to lead the Cougars charge. Cougar kicker Antti Hakala kicked a 28 yard field goal and the Cougar defense also managed to scored 2 points on a safety.

The Calaveras Redskins were hampered early on when star running back Nathan Adams was sidelined due to heat exhaustion. Adams was able to play a few minutes but was obviously not 100 percent.
