Kidnapped Teenagers Found Alive

Both teenage girls kidnapped this morning in Southern California have been found alive and in good condition. Police confirm the suspect has been fatally shot. This word first coming in around 1:30 p.m. this afternoon. There might have been an exchange of gunfire.

Authorities say the abducted 16-year-old Tamera Brooks and 17-year-old Jaqueline Marris were found in Kern County in the Lake Isabella area near Ridgecrest, about two-hours north of the Landcaster abduction site. The two girls were found 12 hours after being taken at gunpoint early this morning.

A Kern County sheriff´s official says the gunman sought in the kidnapping of two teen-age girls has been shot dead. Captain Chris Davis says the girls are reported OK. The shooting took place between Lake Isabella and Ridgecrest.
