Former SLA Member Comments After Release

Sponsored by:

Former Symbionese Liberation Army soldier Emily Montague says posting bail is just the first step in her plan to clear her name of murder.

Montague, formerly Emily Harris, tells The Sacramento Bee she wants to dispel the misinformation that´s been floating around for 27 years.

Montague posted one million dollars bail yesterday.

She is one of five former SLA colleagues charged with shooting Myrna Opsahl during a holdup of the Carmichael branch of Crocker National Bank on in 1975.

Prosecutors believe Montague fired the shot that killed Opsahl as she was depositing a church collection.

William Harris, Michael Bortin and Sara Jane Olson are also charged in the shooting and remain jailed.
