Firefighters were extremely busy Monday in the Mother Lode

Tuolumne County firefighters are investigating a series of small grass fires, believed to have been set deliberately early Monday morning.

Passers-by reported the spot fires in sections along J-59, near Bonds Flat road. Fire officials are asking if you saw anything suspicious in the area around 3:30 a.m. or so, to call and report it.

Fire fighters were on the scene of a vehicle fire and resulting grass fire on Confidence-South Fork Road between Michigan road and Highway 108 in the Twain Harte area Monday evening around 6 p.m.

Fire crews quickly knocked down a small grass fire on the 1,000 block of Poole Station Road in San Andreas around Noon Monday.

Emergency units also responded to a vehicle accident that knocked power lines down on 68,000 block of Mountain Ranch in San Andreas shortly after 12 p.m. today.

Sheriffs deputies and emergency crews were called to Highway 108 in Mi-Wuk for a 13 year-old boy with an accidental gun shot wound to his hand.
