More Travel Expected This Long Weekend

Sponsored by:

More people are expected to hit the roads this holiday weekend, but fewer will likely take to the skies. The American Automobile Association estimates that over 35 million people will be traveling during the next three days. The great majority, over 29 million, will hop in their cars. That´s an increase of about a half million over last year. But Triple-A estimates that air travel will drop by 300-thousand passengers to four-point-one million this year.

Two reasons may be lingering fears from September eleventh, plus the increased security it´s spawned at airports. But there have also been warnings of new terrorist attacks that sparked cancellation of the 119th birthday of the Brooklyn Bridge.
