Wildcats, Redskins Post Season Play Ends

In High School grid iron action , both local Mother Lode teams saw their post season play come to an end last night.
Escalon High Cougars smashed the Calaveras Redskins 49 to 7, while the Sonora High varsity squad didn´t give up as easily, but did let an early led slip away.
The Wildcats finally were defeated at Dunlavy Field after two overtimes, 33 to 30 by a Rio Linda field goal.
Oakdale High Mustangs did win at home last night and advance to Round 2 of their playoff bid. They defeated the Oakmont High Vikings of Roseville 42 to 20. Oakdale will take on Bear River next week.
