Two traffic accidents on Highway 26 in the Moke Hill area of Calaveras County just before 11 a.m. Friday morning. The CHP is report both crashes involved the same driver. The first was a hit and run, moments later, that same driver crossed over the center line and caused a head-on collision at Montgomery Drive.
The as of yet unidentified driver suffered major injuries and was pinned in the car. The Jaws of Life was been called in, and an air ambulance flew him to Doctor´s Hospital in Modesto.
The other driver, 44 year old Russell Lenhart of Mokelumne Hill, suffered minor injuries and was treated at Mark Twain hospital in San Andreas.
