Wildfire Burning in Yosemite

Many residents have reported seeing smoke in the Groveland area this morning. Fire officials say that´s coming from a wildfire that has burned about 1,000 acres so far in Yosemite National Park above Cherry Lake.

Fire authorities say the blaze has been burning for about a week and was caused by a lightning strike. Officials are monitoring the fire. It´s what´s known as a “Let Burn” fire.

Winds have been blowing smoke from the fire into the Groveland Area today.
