Valley Springs Driver Booked For DUI

California Highway Patrol officers arrested a Valley Springs woman yesterday morning for driving under the influence after she crashed her car.
Officers say 34 year-old Sherrie Winkler was north on Highway 49 in the Mokelumne Hill area just before 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning when she allowed her car to run off the roadway. Investigators say the car went airborne and landed 50 feet from the road down an embankment. Winkler was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
