Federal Charges For Gang Members

Sponsored by:

Nine men from Northern California and Nevada are under federal indictment for their alleged involvement in a violent gang that has been implicated in five murders.

The indictment says the men committed the killings to make money and protect territory they considered their own. They are facing charges of racketeering, conspiracy and violent crime and could receive the death penalty if convicted. Four of the suspects were arrested yesterday in Vallejo and pleaded innocent to the charges. Two others were arrested in Reno, but did not enter pleas. The remaining two were already in prison on unrelated charges at the time of their indictments.
