SFPD Officers Booked into Jail

Sponsored by:

All the San Francisco police officers indicted for allegedly covering up a street brawl have been booked at the county jail there and released.

Police Chief Earl Sanders was the last of the 10 to be booked last night. Like the other police commanders charged with covering up the fight, Sanders was released on his own recognizance. The three officers charged with participating in the fight were released on bail.

The San Francisco Police Commission decided after a closed-door meeting that Sanders would stay in command. Sanders and the other top police commanders were charged with obstructing justice by covering up the fight.

Three other officers were charged with beating up two men outside of a bar in November.
