A reward topping $30,000 is offered in last month´s shooting of one of the last original wild California condors.

Conservation groups will pay the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whomever killed the giant bird on a Kern County ranch.

She was captured in 1986 as one of the last caught for the breeding program to save the condors from extinction. She was freed in April 2000 one of the first of the original wild birds to be released.
