State Lands Natural Gas Settlement

California officials say they´ve reached a settlement with the El Paso Corporation that will settle accusations that the company withheld natural gas to California.
Governor Davis and Attorney General Bill Lockyer say El Paso will pay nearly $1.7 billion to settle numerous civil lawsuits and state and federal probes. El Paso didn´t admit any wrongdoing in the settlement.
