Automaker Involved In Stopping Teen Deaths

Sponsored by:

The Ford Motor Company and federal highway safety officials have joined together in an attempt to prevent thousands of teen deaths. They say many of the accidents can be blamed on driver inexperience. So they´re launching a new program to help improve teen driving skills. The three-year program will send videos and guides to every public high school in the country. Many students who successfully complete a driving quiz will receive free movie tickets and coupons for pizza.

A survey compiled for the program found that only 11 percent of parents of teens are pleased with the level of driver training their child received. The program reported that 6,000 teens die in car crashes each year.
