The Hunt Fire burning in Calaveras County has consumed 400 acres and according to CDF officials this morning in only 10 percent contained…

The fire which started late Tuesday afternoon off Hunt Road and Poole Station Road flared up again overnight.

At one time flames were threatening homes in the Circle XX subdivision, forcing the evacuation of residents in the area. The evacuation order was lifted around 9 p.m. last night. Officials say no structures were damaged or burnt due to the fire in that subdivision.

Sharon Torrance with the fire command centers say the fire is threatening the Madonna of Peace Catholic Renewal Center on Hunt Road.

At around midnight, a privately-owned water tender rolled over on steep, wet hillside, but the driver was not injured.

The Nor Cal Power Agency shut off power to high tension transmission lines that run through the burn area for firefighters safety and to protect the power lines.

Two air tankers and five helicopters will continue their assault of the fire at daybreak along with hundreds of firefighters on the ground.
