Sponsored by:

As the man charged in Fresno´s worst mass murder prepares to be arraigned, some are questioning whether police could have done more at the scene to prevent the deaths.

Police Chief Jerry Dyer acknowledged today that his department is looking into whether the victims were shot Friday while officers waited outside Marcus Wesson´s house for more than two hours.

Wesson is scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon on charges that he killed nine of his family members — one adult and eight children.

The charges will be read to the 57-year-old Wesson during an arraignment scheduled for 1:30 this afternoon.

Investigators have not disclosed a motive for the killings. If convicted, Wesson could be sentenced to death.
