Chiesa Gets 80 Years to Life

Sponsored by:

Peter Jordan Chiesa was sentenced to 80 years to life Thursday for killing two women as they cleared tree branches from a common driveway two years ago.

Deputy District Attorney Seth Matthews said he didn´t think Chiesa “deserved any breaks.”

A jury convicted the 65 year-old Wallace man last week in the June 2002 slayings of 43 year-old Leslie Hannameyer, and 41 year-old Annette Truman. They were the wives and mothers of two families that shared a driveway easement with Chiesa and his wife.

Chiesa will get prison credit for the 639 days he has spent in Calaveras County Jail since the shootings and will spend the rest of his life in prison because he can´t be considered for parole until he serves 80 percent of his sentence.
