OHV Park Fees Going Up

Sponsored by:

The California Department of Parks and Recreation says fees for using state off-highway vehicle recreation areas will climb next month along with the entry costs at other state facilities. Starting July 1, the day use fee at each State Vehicular

Recreation Area will increase from $4 to $5 per vehicle.

Camping will increase from $6 to $10 a night; and annual passes will increase from $35 to $50.

The money is projected to raise about $900,000 that will go to operate and maintain the areas.

The department operates six major off-highway areas — at Prairie City, Carnegie, Hollister Hills, Hungry Valley, Ocotillo Wells, and Oceano Dunes.
