P.G. & E. To Pay $92 Million In Property Taxes

San Francisco, CA — Pacific Gas and Electric Company has announced it will be making nearly $92 million in property tax payments to the 49 California counties in which it operates.

Officials say the payments will be made Monday to cover the tax period of July 1st through December 31st of this year.

The payments will include checks of just over $380 thousand to Tuolumne County and almost $332 thousand to Calaveras County.

P.G.&E. says the payments go to help fund vital government services on the local level, such as public safety, environmental protection, health care and education.

The company´s tax obligation is up about $6 million over the first half of the year due to a higher appraisal by the board of equalization.
