Sheriff’s Deputies Link Sonora Men To Jamestown Home Invasion

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County Sheriff´s investigators are seeking arrest warrants against three Sonora men being held by Albany County authorities in Wyoming.

Detective Jim Mele of the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department says 19-year-old Jeff Hess, 20-year-old Jerrald Clark and 19-year-old Michael Sullivan are suspects in several burglary and robbery cases including a home invasion in Jamestown last month.

Mele says the connection was made when narcotics officers served a search warrant on a residence on Bonanza Street in Sonora. That search turned up items that investigators believe were stolen from the home in Jamestown.

The three are being held in Wyoming on allegations that they robbed a man at a rest stop on I-80 near Laramie. Authorities also suspect the three in several other armed robberies in Wyoming and Nebraska.

Mele says his department will continue to build a case against the men, and seek extradition to California after they are tried in Wyoming.

The three are being held on $1 million bail.
