Family Health & Wellness Center Renovation Project
Sonora, CA — Tuolumne General Hospital´s Health and Wellness Center is being remodeled.
The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors voted to reject the bids submitted by competing contractors and chose to rescale the Family Health and Wellness Remodel project to conform to the amount of funds available.
The Family Health and Wellness center will continue to see patients in its current location at 101 Hospital Road during construction. Organizers say the revised project will double the number of Dental examination rooms and will improve patient access and circulation.
It is also expected to improve the size and layout of the front office space and patient waiting areas. The renovation will also add wheelchair access to the new main entrance and bring the facility into compliance with the American Disabilities Act.
The bulk of the project will be paid for with Federal Community Development Block Grants thanks to the matching funds provided through the support of the Tuolumne General Hospital Foundation, Sonora Area Foundation, and First 5 Tuolumne County.
