Copperopolis, CA — Fifty or so Copperopolis residents turned out Tuesday night for a second town hall meeting on the Copperopolis Community Plan.

Interim Planning Director Bob Sellman said, “I think they´re trying to understand it. There´s concern about the amount of growth that´s provided for in the plan and there´s shock on how much is already allowed.”

The plan sets a template for growth over the next twenty years. It allows for a total of 16,000 homes, including already permitted ones. That would bring the Copperopolis population to 40,000.

People may submit their comments to the county Planning Department. Sellman will meet with Supervisor Victoria Erickson next week to discuss a timeline for the plan´s Environmental Impact Report.
