San Andreas, CA — Authorities have released a few more details about a fatal shooting in Calaveras County Tuesday night.

Deputies arrived a short time later at the Burson home on Evergreen Road and investigated the scene.

Investigators determined that 66-year-old Janet Casey had shot and killed her husband 73-year-old Frank Casey with a .38 caliber revolver. The Sheriff´s Department says both parties may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time.

It was also determined that the 911 call was placed by the girlfriend of the couple´s son who lives nearby.

Casey was arrested and booked into Calaveras County Jail on an initial charge of first degree murder.

She now also faces a charge of using a firearm in the commission of a felony. Her bail is set at $1.2 million.
