Yosemite National Park, CA — Yosemite National Park officials say a body discovered in Tenaya Canyon may be that of a 25-year-old foreign exchange student missing since June.

Authorities say Hyundo Ahn of South Korea set out to hike the 211-mile John Muir trail June 20th. He was last seen by others on the trail June 22nd.

Searchers found the body Saturday in what experts call a dangerous canyon with no trail.

Officials say Ahn´s backpack full of wilderness gear was found Friday in the area.

Officials say the canyon where the body was found is no where near the John Muir Trail, and they have no idea how Ahn would have ended up there.

An autopsy is planned for this morning to confirm the identity of the body.
