CDF Advises Residents To Double Check Fire Safety Measures

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — With temperatures peaking in the hundreds and no rain in sight for the Mother Lode, the CDF is advising those living in rural areas to take extra measures to protect their homes from wildfires.

The CDF says to remove brushy vegetation and tall grass, as well as dead tree limbs, branches and logs from the ground.

Campers are also at risk for starting fires and the CDF says that hikers should never start fires in windy conditions. Overall the department is asking residents as well as tourists to use common sense.
