Fire Origin Electrical

Tuolumne County and CDF fire investigators say the origin of an early morning blaze at Dodge Ridge was electrical. Fire Information Officer Craig Hart says investigators have been probing the razed building at the popular ski area all afternoon. The structure was formerly known as the Old Mother Lode Lodge and was replaced by the new lodge more than four decades ago. Hart says damage to the building and contents now stands at well over $1-million. The remnants of the building are still smoldering, but the fire has been fully extinguished. The last big blaze that occurred at Dodge Ridge was in the early 1960´s when the ski rental shop was destroyed by fire.

The ski area will be open for normal operations tomorrow. There were no injuries.
